About Gallo Sauces

The year was 1974, a young Ada Gallo opened Pizza Motta in the heart of Montreal’s Little Italy—La Petite-Patrie, as the locals call it—from the first day she knew that she wasn’t just serving food. She was building a legacy. Flour-dusted mornings were followed by late nights crafting recipes passed down through generations, every dish carried the essence of tradition and the fire of innovation.

Motta grew quickly, the once small bakery, evolved into a pizzeria, a restaurant, a fine foods grocer and caterer. A place where families gathered, where traditions blossomed, where deals got sealed over plates of steaming pasta, and where signature sauces became cherished flavors that kept customers coming back. Every bite tasted like home.

"Could we buy your sauce?" they would ask, hoping to be the fortunate one that would make her reveal the secret. With a sweet smile, the savvy Madame Gallo would always reply, “Not yet, my dear. All in due time”

Fifty years later, with the same devotion she brings to her own table, she’s finally ready to share her treasured recipes.

Every jar of Gallo sauce carries the soul of Italian cooking—slow-simmered, bold, and rich with tradition. A lifetime of passion, and just the right touch of mystery, now yours to enjoy.

Serve it with pride and above all… Love
